Feltex, is a subsidiary of KAP Ltd. Our Automotive Division comprises six business units that supply products directly and indirectly to the South African OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), with its Head Office in Durban. This division is now one of South Africa’s largest automotive component manufacturers, with manufacturing facilities situated in Jacobs (Durban), Hammarsdale (Durban), Prospecton (Durban), Rosslyn (Pretoria), Silverton (Pretoria), Gqeberha (AKA: Port Elizabeth), and East London – all in close proximity to the assembly plants to facilitate “just in time” and “just in sequence” supply. Feltex information technology systems interface with the OEM’s production planning systems.

The key success factors of the automotive business units are an engaged workforce, consistent quality, outstanding service, and internationally competitive pricing. All the business units within the Automotive division have achieved a prominent supply position in their product sectors, enabling the businesses to achieve competitive prices through economies of scale benefits.
